Hobby Horse Riding Centre Terms and Conditions and Cancellation Policy
* Upon booking you are agreeing to all of our Terms and Conditions *
RIDING IS A RISK SPORT - Your choice to ride is voluntary. We take all reasonable care to provide suitable and safe horses and ponies for all our clients. All animals can be Unpredictable. We strongly advise you to take out full personal accident cover.
Please Note: Hobby Horse Riding Centre, Owners, Staff and Managing agents cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to any persons or their property whilst on these premises or whilst out hacking or in any lesson.
Smoking Policy: We have a Strict No Smoking Policy; if you are caught you will be asked to leave.
Pets: We don't allow any clients to bring their own pets onto the grounds/premises for the safety of our own animals. Guide Dogs are allowed.
Registration Forms: All riders will need to fill in a rider registration form on arrival before riding any horse or pony and if under 18 years of age the registration will need to be signed by parent or guardian.
Data Protection Act: Hobby Horse Riding Centre will hold information given in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 but it may also be available to insurers and other concerned parties in the invent of an injury or accident.
Safety Equipment: All pupils must wear a hard hat adhering to the British Safety Standards (we can loan free of charge). Long trousers are to be worn and shoulders to be covered. Shoes or boots with a smooth sole and definite heel (approx. ½ inch) are required. NO sandals or trainers.
We do not supply body protectors but we strongly recommend wearing one when riding, especially when jumping or cantering.
Weight Limit: Current weight limit due to horse/pony stock is 12 1/2 stone
Spectators: You’re welcome to bring any friends and family with you to watch your session, however spectators must not shout over the instructor or chat to the riders during their lesson as it distracts them and compromises safety. If you have young children with you they must sit quietly and not run around, both on the yard and when lessons have commenced.
Pre-paid lessons and deposits: Please be aware that all pre-paid lessons and deposits are non-refundable. You have the option to transfer the lesson slot to a different time/date up to 48 hours before day of lesson, subject to availability.
Toddler sessions: For the trotting tots session, a parent/guardian must be prepared to walk alongside the pony to help support your child, a leader for the pony will be provided. Parent/guardian must be wearing suitable footwear, no sandals.
Quantock treks: It is important that you have an initial assessment lesson (priced as a private) before being allowed to book onto a Quantock trek, you must be able to ride independently and have a secure seat.
Please understand that you must obey the instructions of the instructor and you must comply with all safety regulations and notices.
We require a cancellation policy not only to keep our classes small, but to keep our prices low and to keep quality of teaching high. A cancellation policy is now unavoidable due to an increasing number of people cancelling group / private / semi-private lessons on the day or simply not turning up to a lesson or activity that has been booked. This is not sustainable for the business.
We require payment of a week in advance, when you start with us you pay for two sessions (that one and the following lesson) from thereafter you then just pay for the following lesson so you are always one week ahead.
If you cancel your lesson up to 24 hours before the day of your lesson then you can just postpone, however if you cancel within 24 hours of the day of your lesson the fee will be kept to cover costs.
